Backstory: (SPOILERS FOR FFIX)
Garnet was born in the summoner village of Madain Sari. She lived there until the age of six, when her home was attacked. Her birth mother tried to escape on a boat with her, but the fierce waves took her life. She awoke in Alexandria harbor, where she had been found by Queen Brahne, whose daughter, the real Princess Garnet, had died. Queen Brahne and her husband noticed the remarkable similarity this girl had to the late princess, except for the fact that she had a horn. They removed the horn and decided to raise her as Princess Garnet.
Her father died when Garnet was 15, and her mother when she was 16. Though she is now the queen of Alexandria, she needs to further her magical education and has decided to attend St. Catherine's and rule her country from afar. Even though she is a queen, she is very friendly and down to earth, with a powerful will.
